"Risset's Party" is a compilation of solo recordings and collaborations with other Bay Area musicians. There are two live recordings from Jazz Camp West (Bonfa's "Corcovado", and Allport's "Hip Gnosis"). Three tracks were recorded with Nannick Bonnel and Jeff Weinmann from the NDJ Trio, plus Vicki Grossi on bass and David Allport on guitar. The other ten tracks (of which four are Allport compositions) feature David on all instruments. |

"Oddly Enough" is a collection of solo recordings, emphasizing David's current interest in odd time signatures. Some of his compositions included are "Other Matters" (which is mostly in 5/4 and 7/8, with one bar of 4/4), "Up To Eleven" (which is an 11 bar blues in 11/4), and "Lucky Funker" (which is a funky jazz tune in 13/4). There are also a couple of jazz standards, including a version of "Softly As In A Morning Sunrise" on which David plays electric sitar. |
